Kings of Leon — Mary
I don’t even particularly like “Come Around Sundown” all that much. But for some reason, this song has gotten stuck down deep in that place where occasionally, a random filler track will carve its little niche and say, “Well, this is unexpected. But you’re stuck with me now.”
This song is a movie montage of hot, hazy, beautiful moments from your favourite summer. It’s driving just a little too fast, with the window down. It’s those days when everything feels right. You hear those first few whimsical twangs, and then the riff kicks in, and it’s Friday night, past midnight, on the dancefloor, a few drinks in, and for a precious three minutes and twenty-five seconds, nothing is going to wipe the smile off your face.
